With joy in Our Hearts, We greet the Rector / Parish Priest and the leaders and parishioners of the Parish of Sto. Sepulcro as you commemorate the fortieth anniversary of your parish. For forty years, you have lived in words and in deeds what the shepherd David initimated in music and lyrics: “I will proclaim your name to the assembly; in the community I will praise you!” (Psalm 22:23).

The number forty is significant to your parish, dedicated in honor of Jesus in the Holy Sepulcher. The evangelist Luke puts in history the event of Christ’s ascension by connecting the event forty days after the resurrection of Jesus (cf. Acts 1:3).  In the same way, the celebration of your parish’s fortieth year must never confine you in the sepulcher of forty years past, but be a venue to look forward to and work for your spiritual and moral maturity as a community – towards your ascension. Only then can you really embrace Jesus as Emmanuel Salvador del Mundo.

We are pleased to know that, in celebration of your fortieth anniversary as a parish, you are launching the maiden issue of your official magazine, “Emmanuel.” This noble initiative will be valuable in giving testimony to the faith-experiences of informing and forming the devotees and parishioners.
